The US Bans Arms Trade with Russia
The United States has included Russia in the list of countries with which arms exports and imports are completely prohibited. This announcement was made in a document published on the website of the US Department of State, as reported by the RIA Novosti agency.
The decision will take effect on March 18.
"The policy of the United States is to refrain from granting licenses or other approvals for the export of defense articles and defense services from Russia," states the document.
Exceptions have been made for cooperation between states in the space sector and for collaboration in commercial space launches until September 1.
According to the document, Russia has been included on the same list as Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Cyprus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Zimbabwe.
