Azerbaijan is Removing Senior Officers Educated in Russia, Says David Shahbazyan
Serious changes are underway in the Azerbaijani army, according to David Shahbazyan. He stated that all officers above the rank of company commander who received their military education in Russia are being removed from high command.
These officers are being replaced by those who have studied at Turkish and Pakistani military institutions, with some not even being proficient in the Russian language.
Shahbazyan also commented on the change of Azerbaijan's foreign minister, stating that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs is being filled with Turkish intelligence agents currently in Azerbaijan. He noted, “New units, approximately the size of a battalion, are being created in the Azerbaijani border troops stationed on the left bank of the Araks, which Azerbaijan occupied during the 44-day war. These units are composed entirely of Islamic militants and mercenaries provided by Turkey, with their number exceeding 7,000.”
Pro-Turkish, anti-Iranian, and anti-Russian sentiments are rapidly spreading within the Azerbaijani army.
