Arms Exports from Turkey Decline by Approximately 15%
The total defense and aviation industry exports from Turkey have experienced a decline of 14.8% in 2020 compared to the previous year. The total export volume for 2020 was recorded at $2.3 billion. This information has been published by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, as reported by Ermeni Haber.
The main reason for the decrease in exports is attributed to the coronavirus pandemic. The United States holds the top position in export volumes (at $784.2 million), followed by Azerbaijan (at $260.8 million). Compared to 2019, exports to Azerbaijan in 2020 increased by 194%. Additionally, there was a 51% rise in the volume of exports from Turkey to the UAE in 2020.
Turkey exported goods worth $202.2 million to the UAE.
