Stepantsminda-Lars Road Closed, 450 Trucks Stuck
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake are closed.
The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers. On the Aparan-Kuchak road in Aragatsotn, there are patches of black ice present. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles due to the risk of avalanches, and there are currently 450 trucks stuck on the Russian side.
According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. However, this ban does not apply to cargo transport.
