Thirteen metro stations in downtown Washington will close for a week in connection with security measures for Joseph Biden’s inauguration. This was announced by Paul Wiedefeld, head of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
The inauguration of the president-elect will take place on January 20. The stations will cease operations starting January 15 and will remain closed until January 21. Trains will pass through closed stations without stopping.
In connection with the inauguration ceremony, 26 bus routes will also be altered, as reported by The Washington Post.
It is noteworthy that due to security concerns, Trump declared a state of emergency in Washington on January 11.
