Charges Filed Against Garnik Isagulyan
The investigation into the case of public calls for violence made by Garnik Isagulyan, the president of the National Security Party, continues within the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Yerevan branch, according to a report by the committee’s information and public relations division.
Based on sufficient evidence gathered, charges have been brought against Isagulyan under Article 333 (false reporting) part 2, point 1, and Article 226.2 (public calls for violence and publicly justifying or promoting violence) part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
A motion was submitted to the court requesting the application of detention as a preventive measure; however, it was rejected. The investigation is ongoing.
Notice: The individual suspected or accused of the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, by a legally enforceable court decision.
