Upcoming Arrests Expected, Says "Zhoghovurd"
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, mass arrests are expected in the near future. The reason for this is that the opposition is intensifying its methods of protest day by day. As the authorities have not yet decided to yield, they are also hardening their actions.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), presented their future plans, which will not be limited to just marches and rallies.
“Next Tuesday, December 22, is declared the most decisive day of struggle. That day, Armenian citizens must forget their daily lives; they cannot be indifferent, go to work, do shopping and remain unaware of this treacherous process,” Saghatelyan said, announcing a nationwide strike and student walkout, along with mass protest actions.
Following hearing about this strategy, according to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, law enforcement representatives have already been instructed to remain vigilant and to ensure that arrests occur, including at the level of opposition leaders, hoping that by the intended date the opposition will be left without leaders, thereby weakening the movement and preventing its continuation.
