No Illegal Orders Given to Captain Serosh Gharibyan, Police Department
The Police Department of the Republic of Armenia has concluded the internal investigation regarding the Facebook post of Senior Operative Officer, Police Captain Serosh Gharibyan from the Mashtots Division of the Yerevan Police Department.
According to the police, the investigation was prompted by a statement made on Gharibyan's Facebook page concerning his resignation from service and allegations of illegal orders given by superiors.
“It has been clarified that neither Captain Serosh Gharibyan’s direct nor indirect supervisors have given him or any other officer illegal orders, instructions, or assignments. Consequently, the results of the internal investigation have been left without consequences,” the police report stated.
It is worth noting that on December 9, a post by Captain Sergey Gharibyan circulated online, where he mentioned submitting a report for his resignation from the police service. “We are well aware that illegal orders are not subject to execution; especially in such situations, no illegal order can be executed by us, opposing our own people. This is the essence, spirit, and content of our oath, where every deviation is not only a slap to our officer's dignity but also an affront to our human morality, a mockery in memory of our countless heroes who fell for freedom,” Captain Gharibyan wrote specifically.
