Hin Shen Unblocked: Details on the Situation in the Berdadzor Region

Vahram Poghosyan, the press secretary of the President of Artsakh, responded to the questions of "Armenpress" regarding the tense situation created in the Berdadzor sub-region of Shushi.

According to reports, Azerbaijani forces had closed the road to the village of Hin Shen in the Shushi region for a long time, effectively leaving residents in isolation. What is the situation at the moment?

Azerbaijani forces attempted to exert pressure on the Armenian side by establishing a checkpoint on the road leading to Hin Shen; however, following the intervention of the Russian peacekeeping forces, the Azerbaijani checkpoint has been removed today, thereby unblocking Hin Shen. Currently, both representatives of the Defense Army and Russian peacekeepers are present in the community, ensuring the safety of the residents as well as a peaceful and unimpeded flow of traffic.

Today, we received information that the Azerbaijanis had given the residents of Yeghdzahogh, located near Hin Shen, 12 hours to leave the village. How accurate is this information?

The information that the Azerbaijani side gave the residents 12 hours to leave the village does not correspond to reality. It referred to soldiers at one position of the Defense Army. In response, the Armenian side rejected this demand, and the position is currently under the control of Armenian forces.

Media reports and videos emerged stating that another 100 Armenians were captured. How credible is this information?

The Defense Army has not confirmed this information, so I do not rule out that Azerbaijani sources are spreading these reports intentionally to create additional tension. Of course, we are urgently investigating this material to gain a complete picture of the situation. I would like to note that in the sub-region, the Defense Army and the Russian peacekeeping contingent are actively working to reduce tension and prevent possible clashes.
