44 People Transferred to Armenia, 12 to Azerbaijan: Rustam Muradov
According to Rustam Muradov, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, 12 individuals have been handed over to Azerbaijani authorities. This was announced at Yerevan's ‘Erebuni’ airport, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.
“In accordance with the tripartite statement signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, a prisoner exchange has been conducted based on the ‘all for all’ principle. This followed extensive preparatory work conducted with both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, carried out by Russian peacekeepers,” Muradov stated.
He noted that, as a result, under his personal supervision, a Russian aircraft delivered 12 individuals to Baku, who were then handed over to Azerbaijani authorities, while 44 individuals returned from Azerbaijan.
Muradov emphasized that Russian peacekeepers will continue to assist in the exact implementation of the tripartite agreement.
