EU Provides 92 Million Euros to Armenia in Fight Against Coronavirus
Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Jan Plessinger, participated in a discussion organized by the People in Need organization in Armenia as part of the regional program 'Support to Mitigate the Consequences of COVID-19 for Eastern Partnership Countries,' funded by the European Union.
During the meeting, 11 civil society organizations that received funding from the regional program presented their ongoing work aimed at mitigating the negative impact of the pandemic on vulnerable groups in Armenia.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation highlighted the support provided by the European Union to Armenia in the fight against COVID-19, emphasizing the crucial role of civil society in alleviating the effects of the pandemic.
Overall, the European Union's support to Armenia includes a package of 92 million euros, providing funds for the healthcare system, initiatives conducted by state and non-governmental organizations, and rapid response programs implemented by NGOs.
