Parents of Soldiers Claim General Andranik Makaryan Knew Troops Were Without Body Armor
Parents of missing servicemen conducted a protest near the Ejmiatsin military base and have entered the base to speak with Commander Arsen Abgaryan. The parents are demanding answers as to why their sons were sent to the front lines without body armor.
“They issued an order to conduct chemical cleaning without gas masks. You sent them without body armor and helmets,” they stated.
“I swear to you, I knew they didn’t have them. We were ordered to carry out the command, and we did. The decision was made by General-Lieutenant Makaryan,” Abgaryan relayed. He further indicated that everyone was aware that the soldiers were lacking proper protective gear.
This most likely refers to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Andranik Makaryan.
