Putin and Merkel Discuss Situation Around Nagorno-Karabakh
The President of Russia held a phone conversation with the Chancellor of Germany. Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh.
Putin provided information about the mediation efforts undertaken to cease military operations, as well as the activities of Russian peacekeepers deployed along the contact line and the Lachin corridor at the request of Baku and Yerevan.
It was emphasized that the consistent implementation of the agreements recorded in the statement of November 9 by the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia contributes to the overall stabilization of the situation in the region.
The importance of addressing the issues faced by the population affected by military operations was highlighted. Both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, according to the official Kremlin website.
