Funds Allocated for Planned Events Diverted to Stepanakert's Reconstruction: Deputy Mayor on New Year Celebrations
ArmLur.am spoke with Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Virabyan to clarify what decisions the city hall has made regarding New Year events. They tried to find out from the deputy mayor whether a New Year tree would be set up in the Republic Square of Armenia and if the streets of Yerevan would have festive decorations.
Tigran Virabyan revealed that during the city council meeting on November 24, a decision was made to allocate 100 million drams from the 2020 budget designated for organizing New Year events in Yerevan to the reconstruction of Stepanakert. The funds have already been transferred, and it was decided at that time that there would be no New Year events.
