Two Militants Linked to Syrian Terrorists Arrested in Kyrgyzstan
Employees of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan have arrested members of an international terrorist organization associated with Syrian militants. This was announced on October 20 by the press center of the committee.
“The State National Security Committee, during operational-investigative measures to detect secret structures of international terrorist organizations and their financing routes, has arrested two citizens of the Republic in Jalalabad city in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the statement quotes TASS.
At the same time, the names and surnames of the arrested militants have not been disclosed, but it is known that they attacked a local businessman on October 19 and stole about 5,000 US dollars from him. Currently, the suspects are in the temporary detention facility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Jalalabad city.
“The arrested individuals are suspected of participating in the activities of illegal armed groups in Syria. At the direction of their leaders, they arrived in the Republic to organize robbery attacks and provide financial support to international terrorist organizations,” the National Security Committee reported.
