Czech Republic Passes Resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict
The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic has adopted a resolution regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Gaiane Abrahamyan, a member of the My Step faction, announced this on her Facebook page.
In the resolution, the Foreign Affairs Committee calls on third countries' governments not to engage in the conflict and to prevent the transfer of individual fighters from other regions into the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. The Committee urges all parties in the conflict to put an end to armed hostilities, allow for the dignified transfer of the remains of victims to the ground, and return to negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group and its co-chairs.
The Committee expresses its regret over the loss of human lives and voices its outrage over the bombardment of civilian targets, as well as the use of internationally banned weapons, in particular, cluster bombs.
As the head of the Armenia-Czech Republic Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Armenia, I express my gratitude to Marek Benda, the chairman of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic and the head of the Czech-Armenia Friendship Group, for his dedicated efforts and work on this issue,” she wrote.
