UN Secretary-General Welcomes Ceasefire Agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached in Moscow between the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan. This information was reported by the UN website, according to Armenpress.
“The UN Secretary-General appreciates the mediation efforts of the Russian Federation. The Secretary-General calls for adherence to the ceasefire regime and for an urgent agreement on the specific parameters for maintaining the ceasefire regime. Guterres also welcomes the commitment of Armenia and Azerbaijan to begin substantive negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group,” the statement reads.
The Secretary-General also urged the international community to support the ceasefire agreement and continue calling on the parties to resolve their differences through peaceful means.
