Archiving All Film, Audio, and Documentary Materials at the Former Hayfilm Studio
The National Cinematography Center of Armenia has begun to collect, archive, and study all film, audio, and documentary materials located in the former Hayfilm studio area. According to the Cinematography Center, the vast quantity of materials that remained here (as well as in other sections of the studio) after its closure has been in a state of neglect and disrepair for many years, deemed unsuitable or unimportant.
These materials primarily consist of fully or partially preserved footage from films shot during the 1980s and 1990s, various recordings used for dubbing, as well as administrative documents related to the actual operations of Hayfilm.
The work is expected to last at least one month, while the research and processing of the materials may take several years. They will be handed over to the Cinematography Center's archive, which is also currently undergoing a phase of reconsolidation, verification, and inventorying.
The National Cinematography Center of Armenia is carrying out this work with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
