Ministry of Health Clarifies That Issues with Minor Girl's Vision Sharpness Have No Causal Link to Vaccination
The issue with the sharpness of a minor girl's vision has no causal link to vaccination. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
“Information titled ‘A minor girl went blind after receiving the Gardasil vaccination in Yerevan’ has been actively circulated on social media and various media outlets, which is completely misleading and has no medical foundation; the teenager is not blind,” the ministry stated.
On September 14 of this year, a girl born in 2003 was hospitalized at the ‘Holy Mother of God’ Medical Center with a preliminary diagnosis of ‘optic nerve neuritis.’ To clarify the diagnosis, a series of laboratory and instrumental studies were conducted, including a 3T MRI scan, as well as consultations with specialists, which led to the conclusion that the child did not have ‘optic nerve neuritis.’
An ophthalmologist identified a problem with vision sharpness that has no neurological origin and is not causally linked to vaccination. Research to clarify the diagnosis is ongoing. Currently, the child’s condition is assessed as satisfactory, and she is being prepared for discharge.
Earlier, ‘Pastinfo’ reported that a minor girl went blind after receiving Gardasil vaccination in Yerevan.
