We Do Not Believe There Are Issues That Make Araik Harutyunyan's Appointment Impossible - Makunts

We do not hold the view that we are all working perfectly, and there is no need to make certain corrections in our approach or to heed criticisms; I am speaking first of all about myself.

This was stated by Lilit Makunts, the leader of the 'My Step' faction, during a briefing with reporters, addressing the query from 'Enlightened Armenia' about expressing a lack of confidence in Araik Harutyunyan and whether they are satisfied with the minister's performance.

'Naturally, we do not believe there are issues that make Mr. Harutyunyan's appointment impossible at least at this time. So, we will have opportunities for discussions with the minister in the future, and we will present our observations,' she noted.

Regarding the quarantine, Lilit Makunts pointed out that the fight against the pandemic is still ongoing.

'The state of emergency entails much stricter restrictions than a state of crisis. Accordingly, it has also been the suggestion of our opposition partners, and we have changed the regime. Of course, this does not mean that the rules should not be strictly observed; there are simply certain relaxations in specific cases,' she said, providing examples of the operation of cultural institutions, as well as the resumption of work in universities and schools.
