LHK MPs Visit Five Minors in Dastakert Left Under Grandmother's Care
Member of the National Assembly's "Enlightened Armenia" faction, Srbuhi Grigoryan, wrote on her Facebook page: "Yesterday, 'Enlightened Armenia' — represented by me and my colleague, MP Stepan Stepanyan — visited five minors left under their grandmother's care in Dastakert. I must say that I have raised this issue in writing with the government for about ten days now. So far, I have received no response. Not even a written reply. I will address that later. Meanwhile, the children needed food, clothing, and also school supplies. We took all of that into account... Prior to our visit, the municipality of Sisian had already extended a helping hand to the children. We got detailed acquainted with the existing problems on the ground.
The youngest child, who has serious health issues, is under the care of the Sisian medical center. All necessary treatments are being carried out. Moreover, the director of the medical center personally provides necessary baby food to the caregiver. Nevertheless, there are numerous problems ranging from living conditions to psychological support.
When I spoke with the grandmother and saw the hopeful faces of the boys and girls, I believed that they will overcome this trial as well. But each of us has a role to play to ensure that such cases do not happen again."
