15 New Criminal Cases Filed Against Poroshenko
Fifteen new criminal cases have been initiated against Piotr Poroshenko, as reported by his lawyer Igor Golovan, according to ria.ru.
Golovan stated that Poroshenko is accused under 15 articles of the Criminal Code, including 'violation of territorial integrity', 'usurpation of state power', 'state treason', 'embezzlement of another's property', 'financing of terrorism', and 'interference with the operation of electronic computing machines in computer networks'.
It is noted that the former president does not yet have any procedural status in these cases. His lawyer described the new cases as 'empty and fabricated', similar to the previous ones. According to him, this is a continuation of the authorities' political persecution of Poroshenko.
Earlier, it was reported that the Russian government has expanded the list of individuals targeted by special economic sanctions, which now also includes former Ukrainian president Piotr Poroshenko.
