Joghavorout. The State Revenue Committee Strengthens Control in the Trade Sector. Traders Have Long Been Aware
“Joghavorout” newspaper has learned that in recent days, the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has been implementing strengthened oversight in the trade sector.
According to our information, SRC employees are circulating in various administrative districts of Yerevan and entering some shopping centers unexpectedly to determine whether employees are issuing cash register receipts to buyers. Moreover, traders have long been aware that the State Revenue Committee periodically conducts ‘raids’.
The “Joghavorout” newspaper attempted to clarify the information with the SRC’s press secretary Lusine Mkrtchyan, who stated: “No additional, special, or similar operations are being carried out, there is no such directive; daily activities are underway, the tax inspectors are fulfilling their daily duties. Yes, they are conducting checks to ensure that businesses operate in the legal field,” she noted.
Our interlocutor added that the term ‘raid’ is unclear for them since the SRC inspectors are performing their daily work,” the newspaper writes.
