Incident of Arson at Houses and Mill in Talish Occurred in 2018, But Proceedings Opened in 2020

Today, the Investigative Committee of Artsakh reported that an unknown individual set fire to 7 houses, 3 shelters, and a mill in the Talish community of Artsakh. In connection with this incident, the same body has issued a clarification which we present below:

“On September 1 of this year, we disseminated information regarding the arson of 7 houses, 3 shelters, and a mill belonging to the community in the Talish area of the Martakert region of Artsakh. Considering that this information has been published and circulated in various media outlets, we additionally inform that this incident actually took place on July 28, 2018, however, the Investigative Committee of Artsakh initiated proceedings in accordance with the law on August 28, 2020.”

It is worth noting that earlier, the Artsakh Investigative Committee reported that an unknown individual intentionally set fire to the properties belonging to N. A., B. S., G. O., A. A., V. A., N. S., and Z. D. in the Talish community of the Martakert region, resulting in significant property damage to these physical and legal persons.
