50-Year-Old Man Was Making Vodka in His Basement: Details on Alcohol Poisoning Incidents in Armavir
In the Armavir region, Ashot Hovsepyan, arrested in connection with the alcohol poisoning that led to the death of nearly a dozen individuals, had been buying spirit and producing vodka at home for over 10 years. Local residents shared this information with NEWS.am.
According to them, the 50-year-old man was preparing vodka in the basement of his house. “This time, he sold low-quality spirit, which led to such a tragedy,” the locals reported.
It is noteworthy that as of now, from August 31 to September 1, the Republic has recorded 23 cases of alcohol poisoning, 11 of which resulted in death. Due to operational measures by Armavir's criminal investigators, information has been received that those affected had consumed homemade vodka of unknown origin purchased from Ashot Hovsepyan, a 50-year-old resident of Armavir city.
