Large shipments of the Russian coronavirus vaccine will begin in September. This was announced by the Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Murashko noted that the production of the vaccine and the oversight of its registration are being expanded in parallel. "First and foremost, of course, vaccines will be provided to healthcare workers and educators, and vaccination will be completely voluntary. The first large shipments will start in September," said Murashko.

Recall that on August 11, Vladimir Putin announced the registration of the first vaccine against COVID-19 in Russia. According to him, Russia was the first country to register a drug against COVID-19, asserting that the vaccine is quite effective, develops stable immunity, and has undergone all necessary checks.

It is noted that the Russian vaccine will be put into circulation on January 1, 2021. It has been named "Sputnik V."
