Vandalism of Komitas Monument in Paris: A Symbol of the Armenian Genocide Defaced
The alarming incidents of vandalism against Armenian monuments have become frequent following the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in July. This time, the vandals have committed their act in one of the world's cultural capitals, Paris.
Here, they defaced the monument of the renowned Armenian composer Komitas, a symbol of the Armenian Genocide. User Angela Kzhdryan reported the incident on Facebook, stating, "Vandalism during the coronavirus days... In Paris, they wrote 'It's a fake' on the statue of Komitas that represents the Armenian Genocide." She also shared a photo of the monument.
