City Hall to Provide Temporary Shelter for Blast Victims
I have instructed the relevant divisions of the City Hall to provide temporary shelters for the residents affected by the explosion. This was announced by Yerevan Mayor Haik Marutyan on his Facebook page.
"This morning, in Kanaker-Zeytun, at the address 3 Rainisi Street, a gas leak reportedly caused an explosion, resulting in the partial collapse of a four-story panel building. The Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service is currently conducting search and rescue operations. I have instructed the relevant city hall departments to ensure temporary housing for the residents affected by the explosion. Experts will examine the seismic stability of the partially collapsed building and, based on that, will address issues concerning its restoration in the future. After the completion of the search operations and investigation, the area will be cleared," he wrote.
