Yerevan's 95th School Undergoing Reconstruction with 9-Ball Seismic Resistance
The seismic safety improvement program for schools in Armenia continues through the Territorial Development Fund of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, with the comprehensive reconstruction of Yerevan's 95th primary school now underway. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
The school will be designed to withstand earthquakes of up to 9 on the Richter scale. In addition to enhanced safety and a modern appearance, the structure will feature fire safety, thermal insulation, and heating systems, and will be adapted for children with mobility challenges. It will also include a comfortable gymnasium.
The school is intended to accommodate 600 students, with a total investment of 1 billion 159 million drams for the reconstruction. Twenty percent of the funding comes from the government, while 80 percent is financed through a loan from the Asian Development Bank.
As part of the same program, at least 46 schools are planned for construction or reinforcement across Armenia.
