7 Units of Unexploded Ordnance Found in Mayakovski Community of Kotayk Province
Since August 18, 2020, specialists from the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center have been conducting clearance operations in the Mayakovski community of Kotayk Province (in the area of the former military warehouses in Balavoht). This has been reported by the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center.
The goal of these operations is to clean the area of unexploded ordnance resulting from explosions caused by the fire at former military bases.
As a result of the work carried out, 7 units of unexploded ordnance have been discovered: 4 pieces of 122 mm caliber shells, 2 pieces of 57 mm caliber shells, and 1 piece of 100 mm caliber shell. All discovered unexploded ordnance has been destroyed.
Once the operations are completed, the area will be officially handed over to local self-government bodies.
