Masked Individuals Storm Cell of Inmate and are 'Killing': Zhanna Aleksanyan

President of the NGO 'Journalists for Human Rights', human rights activist Zhanna Aleksanyan has stated on her Facebook page, "I just received information that masked individuals have stormed the cell of an inmate held in Nubarashen Penitentiary and, according to the person who reported it, they are 'killing'. This inmate was recently transferred from Armavir Penitentiary to Nubarashen. According to the report, the masked individuals are also killing other inmates.

I call on the relevant authorities and monitoring groups to pay attention to this issue, as well as to take urgent measures through the Ombudsman’s hotline or to visit the facility. I must also note that reports of violence in penitentiaries have become more frequent recently. They are fighting against criminal subculture using inhumane methods."
