120-Person Wedding Allowed Despite Restrictions

In the context of the state of emergency, the monitoring of compliance with the decisions of the Prime Minister is becoming increasingly targeted by the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia. Following citizen complaints, inspectors identify organizations that are aware of the established requirements but still fail to comply.

Recently, the Food Safety Inspection Body received a report from a citizen that a wedding was set to take place at the 'Golden Embrace' restaurant in Yerevan, with 120 attendees. In response to the complaint, the Inspection Body warned the operator not to hold a large gathering. However, the operator disregarded the Prime Minister's directive and allowed the wedding to proceed.

As a result, inspectors from the central Yerevan division documented the violation, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister's office. The situation was also addressed by the Police of Armenia, which subjected the operator to administrative liability, and the number of wedding participants was reduced to 40.

It is important to remember that family ceremonies and entertainment events can be organized in both open and closed spaces, but not with more than 40 participants while adhering to the safety rules established by the Prime Minister. Today, experts from the Inspection Body also conducted checks throughout the country, and operators generally continue to follow exemplary practices.

The Food Safety Inspection Body reminds that even the slightest deviation from safety guidelines significantly increases the risk of coronavirus infection, and thus the monitoring body will continue its inspections diligently. Operators who fall short will inevitably face administrative penalties.
