Husband of 25-Year-Old Woman Murdered, Suspect on the Run - Iranian Citizen
The investigative committee of Armenia has made significant progress in uncovering the murder case of a 25-year-old woman. The identity of the alleged perpetrator has been established as her 32-year-old husband, who is a citizen of Iran.
Earlier reports indicated that on August 17, 2020, around 3:00 PM, the police discovered the body of the young woman with visible injuries to her neck and face on Hovsepyan Street in Yerevan.
The investigation revealed that during a heated argument about personal and family issues, the 32-year-old man unlawfully deprived his wife of her life by strangling her and then fled the scene.
With sufficient evidence obtained, an official decision was made to charge the 32-year-old man under Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (murder), and he is now wanted by law enforcement. A measure of restraint has been selected for him, which includes detention.
Efforts are underway to locate the suspect and present him to the investigating authority. The investigation is ongoing.
