Car Leaves Road and Falls into Irrigation Ditch
On August 20, at 12:56 PM, the Regional Crisis Management Center received a report that an accident occurred in the village of Hayanist, with injuries reported.
Two firefighting units from the Ararat Regional Emergency Management Administration were dispatched to the scene, although one unit returned as the need for their assistance was no longer required.
It was found that a car, a "Opel Vectra B" (driver: Vardan G., born in 1989), had left the drivable portion of the Hayanist-Khachpar highway at kilometer 1 and had fallen into an inactive irrigation ditch passing through the village of Khachpar.
Before rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver and three passengers were extracted from the vehicle by local residents and brought to an ambulance, where they received medical assistance on site.
The rescuers used specialized equipment to remove the car from the ditch, brought it closer to the tow truck, and disconnected the battery while closing the valve on the gas tank.
