Residents of the Geghamasar improved community in the Gegharkunik Province have blocked the Vardenis-Karvachar interstate road since 7 AM on August 18. The villagers are protesting against the dust clouds rich in chemical elements resulting from the explosions at the Sotk gold mine, which are reaching surrounding settlements and polluting drinking and irrigation water.
