Distance Learning Students Pay Full Fees, Yet Online Education Is Not Traditional: Abovyan
Of course, it's hard to disagree with all the arguments raised by our colleagues regarding the state of emergency, but it is very important to understand why this state of emergency should not be extended in this case. This was stated by MP Arman Abovyan during a special session of the National Assembly.
According to him, during the state of emergency, students, including those studying in a paid system, were forced to learn through a distance learning system. At the same time, students' parents, due to objective reasons—stemming from both the restrictions of the state of emergency and the economic situation—lost their jobs.
“In fact, today we have a reality where distance learning students pay the full amount, and let’s agree that distance education is not traditional education, whether we like it or not. There is a quality reduction issue here, and at the same time, parents are not working and do not have money, yet the payment is still required. In reality, young students today are facing quite a serious problem,” he noted.
