Turkish-Azerbaijani Joint Exercises: Military Helicopters Conduct Flights Again Today
Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan stated on his Facebook page: “As part of the Turkish-Azerbaijani joint exercises, military helicopters have conducted flights again today. On August 5, those helicopters merely executed a flight and returned to the starting point, but today they are involved in personnel transfers. We should note that only four days remain until the conclusion of the exercises, and as of now, no tactical drills involving live fire of any kind have been conducted. The noise surrounding the exercises is significantly louder, and Azerbaijan is capitalizing on this topic much more than the reality suggests.
Notably, the Turkish military authorities have not released any statements regarding the exercises, apart from a very brief announcement made on July 29. I would also add that this exercise is much more reminiscent of Turkish operations in the Turkish-Kurdish conflict, where small groups are transported by helicopters to the alleged hiding spots of the Kurds, where a group of 15-20 individuals conducts operations. This exercise is entirely different in nature from previous years' Turkish-Azerbaijani joint exercises.”
