Why Patients Are Transferred to the Intensive Care Unit When Their Condition is Not Critical
The medical center in the city of Spitak has been designated as a Covid-19 center since June 9. According to the director of the center, Varduhi Sisakyan, only a part of the hospital is treating coronavirus patients, while the maternity ward and the trauma departments remain operational.
Residents of Spitak report that the entire hospital is filled with patients infected with the coronavirus. A source from LURER.com has conveyed that a pregnant woman recently attempted to give birth at home and lost her child. A victim of an accident was taken to Vanadzor very late, and nearly every day, patients with strokes and heart attacks are dying.
People are forced to travel to Vanadzor for treatment, while some do not have the means to do so. A hospital employee stated in an interview that they are working without a contract; the director insists on signing an agreement to continue working with coronavirus patients for another month, but has not compensated them, promising to deliver payment each time.
It is evident that the hospital director is cooperating with the Ministry of Health. The director also claims that the Spitak medical center has been repurposed and has joined the fight against the coronavirus disease.
The hospital staff member told us that patients' health conditions are not critical, yet they are being transferred to the intensive care unit. Residents of Spitak are left questioning how long they will have to travel to Vanadzor for treatment or even just for check-ups—these are pressing questions that remain unresolved.
