«We must declare our starting point, our minimum plan» - Romanos Petrosyan issues a statement
The newly appointed Minister of Environment of Armenia, Romanos Petrosyan, has issued a statement on the ministry's Facebook page.
In the statement, he says: “Dear compatriots,
Based on the Prime Minister’s proposal, in accordance with Article 131 of the Constitution and part 1 of Article 5 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, signed the decree to appoint me as Minister of Environment yesterday.
Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced me to the staff of the Ministry of Environment. Expressing my gratitude to the Prime Minister for such high trust, I assured that I will continue to invest all my energy, effort, and dedication to ensure a more guaranteed, more protected, knowledge-based management, and a caring public attitude towards the developing environment in the Republic of Armenia.
Dear colleagues, I wish to emphasize that deep reforms are underway in post-revolutionary Armenia in all areas of life, including the management of the environment, which directly affects the quality of life in our republic. The bar that has been set thus far in the management of environmental management, subsoil use, and other components must serve as a starting point for us, our minimum plan, and together with the skills, knowledge, and experience of all the figures gathered in this department from all generations, we must quickly implement the drive for a better quality of life in Armenia, for the Republic of Armenia, for the Armenian people, and for the citizens of Armenia.”
