Ministry of Education to Review Gagoyan's Decision: Will Galoyan Become Rector?

Today, July 31, a meeting will be held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports under the leadership of Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, during which the issue of depriving Diana Galoyan, who aspires to become the rector of the Economic University, of her doctoral degree by the Chairman of the Higher Qualification Committee, Sambat Gagoyan, will be discussed. It should be noted that according to the law, only a scientist with a doctoral degree can be elected as rector, while the HQC had stripped Galoyan of her title about ten days prior. It is unclear whether the discussion will be open or closed, but it is possible that the ministry will once again prefer to hold the meeting behind closed doors, similar to the previous encounter between Gagoyan and Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Grisha Tamrazian in the National Assembly.
