25-Year-Old Passenger of 'Lada Priora' That Crashed into a Tree on Isaakian Avenue Dies in Hospital

A tragic car accident occurred in Yerevan on July 31. Around 3:30 AM, Serjik Melikyan, a 24-year-old resident of Nubarashen, lost control of his 'VAZ 217030' vehicle at the intersection of Admiral Isakov Avenue and Sebastia Street under unknown circumstances, crashing into a tree. As a result of the accident, driver S. Melikyan and his passenger, 25-year-old Babken Hayrapetyan from Shirak Province, were taken to the 'Astghik' medical center with bodily injuries. Later, B. Hayrapetyan, transported to the 'Astghik' medical center, passed away in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.

Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated by senior investigator G. Avetisyan under the second part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and it was transferred to the Transport Crimes Investigation Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.
