Currently, two judges have submitted their candidacies to the General Assembly of Judges for the vacant position of a Constitutional Court judge. This was reported by Arman Khachaturyan, head of the Public Relations and Protocol Department of the Judicial Department of the Republic of Armenia.
According to him, candidacy applications for the position of a Constitutional Court judge have been received from the President of the Supreme Court, Ervand Khundkaryan, and the President of the General Jurisdiction Court of Tavush Province, Arman Kurekhyans.
This information is sourced from Tert.am. It is noteworthy that a General Assembly of Judges will take place tomorrow, July 31, where one of the candidates will be elected.
Following the constitutional amendments, the powers of three judges of the Constitutional Court have been terminated, and nominations for the three vacant positions must be made by the Government, the General Assembly of Judges, and the President of the Republic of Armenia. On July 23, the Government nominated Vahram Avetisyan, while the candidate name from the General Assembly of Judges will be known tomorrow.
