24 Graduates from Orphanages to Receive Housing Purchase Certificates
The government today, on July 30, adopted a decision approving the list of individuals eligible to receive housing purchase certificates (HPC). However, 130 applicants from orphanages have been denied the granting of HPCs. The decision proposes to provide HPCs to only 24 of them.
‘Among the citizens who have applied to us, we currently have 130 rejections because the citizens do not meet the criteria,’ stated the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
To qualify for the project, individuals must leave the orphanage upon turning 18, hold Armenian citizenship, not possess title to property, and not have transferred any housing in the last 5 years.
‘We suggested to the government members to provision HPCs to these 24 individuals as an exception, because legally, according to the government decision, they do not meet the requirements, but in fact, they are in the same social situation,’ noted Zarouhi Batoyan.
