BMW X5 Stolen from the Special Protection Area of the Ararat Customs Office
The Malatia Division of the Police is investigating a large theft that occurred in the parking lot of the Ararat Customs Office, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
Armen Grigoryan, a resident of Yerevan, visited the customs office two days ago and witnessed that his BMW X5, parked in the customs parking lot for almost a year, had been stolen. The vehicle bore Georgian license plate QF 460 FQ.
According to sources, Grigoryan suffered approximately $1,800 in damages, as the thieves broke a window, stole the speakers, and the rear light assemblies, all from a specially protected area. The citizen is unsure who is responsible for compensating the damage but likens the situation to saying, "If the thief is not at home, the bull won't take the roof" or "If you take your eyes off it, you might not own it anymore."
It is reported that the customs office placed the vehicle under arrest over a year ago without valid justification, claiming that it was driven by Grigoryan's wife.
