The Name of the Candidate for the Constitutional Court Judge Proposed by the Government is Known
The Government of Armenia will propose Vahram Avetisyan as the candidate for the judge of the Constitutional Court. The issue is included in the agenda of today's government meeting.
"Guided by the first part of Article 166 and the third part of Article 213 of the Constitution, the Government of the Republic of Armenia decides to propose the candidacy of Vahram Avetisyan for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court," the draft decision states.
As a result of constitutional changes, the powers of three judges of the Constitutional Court have been terminated. The right to propose a candidate belongs, in order, to the government, the President of the Republic, and the General Assembly of Judges.
