Former Deputy Mayor Awarded $4,700 in One Month: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'While Armenia is in a state of war due to border issues and the coronavirus pandemic, government officials continue to lavishly use the budget. Yerevan's Mayor Hayk Marutyan, who rewarded around $120,000 to 122 city hall employees and all 12 district leaders on July 13, granted 1.8 million drams two days later, on July 15, to his recently dismissed deputy, Hayk Sarkisyan, who had previously received 480,000 drams. In other words, one individual received approximately $4,700 just one day after his official dismissal from the deputy mayor position.'
