VIDEO: Armenian Truck Drivers at ‘Food City’ Supported by Armenian Community after Midnight Removal
As previously reported, overnight, trucks loaded with Armenian products were removed from one of the largest wholesale markets in Moscow, the agricultural ‘Food City’. Following the incident, the Armenian community raised their voices in protest, highlighting that the perishable goods on board were beginning to spoil.
Facebook users also reported that until yesterday, trucks laden with Armenian apricots were parked in this empty section of Moscow's ‘Фуд Сити’ market. During the night, the market's administration removed the Armenian trucks from that area, essentially preventing the sale of the apricots. They justified their actions by citing safety concerns.
For two days, Azerbaijani buyers had not come for the Armenian apricots, but there were no issues with finding other buyers. Now, all exporters are facing a serious problem regarding sales.
The Armenian community has responded with support for their compatriots. Local Armenians have brought essential food and supplies to the drivers. In an interview with Auroranews, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan stated that the Armenian Ambassador in Russia is addressing this issue.
