‘My Step’ Indignant Over Government Draft, Mirzoyan Persuaded to Back Down: ‘Hraparak’
‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports that the controversial draft to double fines for not wearing masks, which was withdrawn from circulation, was opposed by the government to ‘My Step.’ Initially, there was resistance within the ruling faction to taking all the blame, and it is no coincidence that Maria Karapetyan was appointed as the main reporter for the draft since no one from the legal and constitutional issues committee agreed to take on that burden. She had a task to prove her ‘loyalty’ to the high authorities.
When a significant public outcry arose, Ararat Mirzoyan intervened and told the government that this could damage their image, as they cannot take everything upon themselves. Sources informed us that the ruling faction is equally outraged by the government’s intention to remove the subject of ‘History of the Armenian Church’ from the school curriculum.
