Fire Erupts in the Intervals of Areni, Chiva, and Prind Villages, Contained
On July 5 at 20:29, the National Crisis Management Center received a report of a fire in grassy areas between the villages of Areni, Chiva, and Prind. A response team consisting of three fire-fighting units from the rescue department of the Vayots Dzor region was dispatched to the scene, along with three operational groups from the regional rescue department.
Strong winds were present, which could have facilitated the spread of the fire toward the village's orchards. By 21:17, a gathering was declared, and a total of 29 rescue workers, along with 40 local residents, were engaged in firefighting efforts, successfully preventing the fire's spread toward the orchards.
Preliminary data indicated that approximately 30 hectares of grass-covered territory had burned. As of 23:43, the fire has been isolated. Operations were suspended due to darkness, and monitoring was conducted on-site.
