Fraud by the Director of the Vayots Dzor Forestry Branch Uncovered

In coordination with the Armenian National Security Service and the police, the Criminal Police Department, the Vayots Dzor Regional Department, and the Yeghgnadzor Division have conducted operational-investigative measures that resulted in obtaining factual data regarding fraudulent actions directed by the head of the Vayots Dzor Forestry Branch of the State Non-Commercial Organization 'Hayantar'.

Between 2015 and 2019, 11 individuals connected to the director were appointed to various positions. These individuals did not attend work; however, large sums from the state budget, totaling 28 million AMD, were withdrawn as salaries in their names, effectively embezzling these funds.

A criminal case has been instituted in the police for the embezzlement of especially large amounts, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.
